Agility News – Hera!

Filed under: Agility,Papillon — by Firerose Papillons @ 7:49 pm

Firerose Hera earned her Open Jumpers title on Nov. 26 with a first place at the ZAP Nadac trial in Auburn, WA.   I enjoyed watching her runs (two with 12 perfect weaves poles!).  Hera is a very steady worker, I and look forward to hearing how she did the rest of the weekend!  Congratulations to her owner, Debra, for working so diligently with this awesome little girl!

Show News: Breed & Rally

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Firerose Papillons @ 8:28 am

Whidbey Island KC show was last weekend in Monroe.  It was chilly!  And it snowed on Sunday, just about all day!

Breed:  Millie was shown in breed and earned a 2nd on Saturday, 1st on Sunday.

Rally Novice:

Jack did a fabulous job; earning his first leg with a perfect score of 100 / 2nd place, and his second leg with a 97 / 1st place!

Marin also did a great job, showing Saturday only, with a 98!  He has his RN title, but we’re showing in novice to acclimate him back to the ring.

Gandalf did a nice job, with a 75 on Sunday.  He has some issues being in the ring, and we are working through those in Novice Rally – it’s great because I can talk to him throughout the course!

The judge (new judge Jesse Taylor) was very nice and did a good job judging each team fairly.

News, and more

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Firerose Papillons @ 5:51 am

This past year has been good:  a trip to the midwest in the rv to Gerianne Darnell’s Small Dog Camp, then another weekend obedience seminar Lori Drouin a few weeks later.

Queenie had her second and final litter; a boy and a girl.  The boy (Jazz) is looking for a home as a pet.  He’s very, very sweet and loves to cuddle!

Ellie came in season while in Iowa, and she has a new litter of 4:  2 boys, 2 girls.   2 are very cute mis-marks (half white faces), and they are sables – and will be looking for pet / performance homes.

We are back to showing Millie and showing the boys in Rally.  Great fun!

Ellie's pups, 1 week old

Jazz - Both ears are now up!

Johnny Update

Filed under: Papillon — by Firerose Papillons @ 10:10 am

Johnny is still looking for the ‘right’ home:  He’s now 5 months old.   While a performance home is preferred, a home where he will be a much-loved pet is equally desireable.    Johnny is very sweet, loves to run and play, and will keep someone very busy training him.

He’s now scheduled to be neutered next month, however, if a performance home comes along, that can be delayed until he is one year of age.

Hip & Elbow x-rays

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Firerose Papillons @ 8:37 am

Yesterday Ellie, Marin and Gandalf had their hips and elbows x-rayed at the Steamboat Animal Hospital bi-annual Breeder Day event.   They all look good, and will soon be on the way to OFA for inclusion in the database.

Ricky update:  He’s doing great.  The reports from Alicia is that he is charming everyone he meets…..that’s his job!

JoJo (now Joey) update:  Joey is doing well also.  She’s been to her new place of employment (the long-term care facility) with her new mom and was well-received by everyone she met.

I’m looking forward to more updates on the pups as they grow up (and photos!  Do send good-size photos for their webpage!).
