Johnny Update

Filed under: Papillon — by firerosepapillons @ 10:10 am

Johnny is still looking for the ‘right’ home:  He’s now 5 months old.   While a performance home is preferred, a home where he will be a much-loved pet is equally desireable.    Johnny is very sweet, loves to run and play, and will keep someone very busy training him.

He’s now scheduled to be neutered next month, however, if a performance home comes along, that can be delayed until he is one year of age.

Hip & Elbow x-rays

Filed under: Uncategorized — by firerosepapillons @ 8:37 am

Yesterday Ellie, Marin and Gandalf had their hips and elbows x-rayed at the Steamboat Animal Hospital bi-annual Breeder Day event.   They all look good, and will soon be on the way to OFA for inclusion in the database.

Ricky update:  He’s doing great.  The reports from Alicia is that he is charming everyone he meets…..that’s his job!

JoJo (now Joey) update:  Joey is doing well also.  She’s been to her new place of employment (the long-term care facility) with her new mom and was well-received by everyone she met.

I’m looking forward to more updates on the pups as they grow up (and photos!  Do send good-size photos for their webpage!).

2/28: CERF exams, heart exams

Filed under: Papillon — by firerosepapillons @ 3:18 pm

Today Gandalf, Ellie, Marin and Andy had eye examinations and heart exams.  The opthamalogist reconfirmed their eyes are “perfect”, and the veterinarian doing the cardiac exams gave the same result for each dog.   The results will be searchable on the OFFA and CERF databases.

Ricky’s off to Nebraska, and JoJo to Alaska

Filed under: Papillon, Rally Obedience — by firerosepapillons @ 2:29 pm

Ricky has gone off to Alaska with Alicia and Marcy Graybill – the sisters flew out to meet him and have a little sightseeing in the area (Seattle, Ft. Worden, and Deception Pass) for a few days.  It was quite delightful to have Alicia and Marcy on board the “Beastie” and go see local sights.   Ricky adores his new mom, and she him -  he’d wait ever-so-patiently for Alicia to wake up and take him outside, and just *smile* at her.

JoJo (now Joey) will be headed for Alaska later this week.  Her destiny is family pet and therapy dog – she will be attending to residents at a long-term care facility, and with her happy and people-loving attitude, she should do well with it!

Now only Johnny is still searching for the right home.  He’d enjoy doing competitive obedience, rally obedience, agility, and probably also some therapy work.

Puppy Update and other news -

Filed under: Papillon — by firerosepapillons @ 10:52 am

JoJo and Johnny are still looking for the perfect homes.  While I’d love them to go to obedience or agility homes, most important is a loving home, where they can be treasured and loved for life.    They are now 4.5 months old, and will be spayed / neutered in the next few weeks.

JoJo is a sweet, outgoing, loves kids puppy.   She adores people!  She’s very smart and can be very funny with her antics.

Johnny is also very sweet and likes everyone, not as rambunctious as his sister (but I suspect that will change when he is  away from his vivacious sister!).

If you’re interested in either puppy, please contact me — serious inquiries, please.  Be sure to tell me about your family, activities, if you’ve had a small dog before,  fenced yard or not, and plans for the puppy.

Other News:

Marin took part in Creative Indulgence’s first public  Simply Black photo shoot.  Photos soon!    The proof images on the computer were stunning of all the dogs that came to the shoot.

Marin, Jasper (who is going to be renamed), and James are in breed-ring training.  Marin will be shown for me by my friend, Melanie.   I’ll try showing the silly puppies when they are of age (April) – they are usually a hoot the first few times in a ring.

Watch for Marin & Melanie  at Seattle Kennel Club’s show (March 7-8) in the Papillon ring!
